Circular Valley is the Silicon Valley of the Circular Economy.

The Rhine-Ruhr region, Germany’s largest metropolitan area, is the ideal location for this for five reasons:

The Circular Valley Foundation runs the Circular Economy Accelerator program for Circular Economy startups from around the world. As part of the program, the representatives of the young companies are not only connected with the Circular Valley partner companies, but also take part in tailor-made workshops, benefit from individual mentoring and the exchange with like-minded people and finally have the opportunity to present their sustainable business models on a big stage.

Other fields of activity include policy recommendations and public relations. Circular Valley connects all sectors of society and builds a network so that concrete solutions can be implemented to accelerate the transformation to a Circular Economy.

The program supports innovative startups from the field of Circular Economy. The startups should be able to have a significant positive impact on the environment (e.g. from the following fields: Construction Materials, Capital Goods, Consumer Goods, Agricultural Products, Water, Alternative Feedstocks, Value Chain Orchestration, Recycling, Plastics). Preferably, there should also be a fit between the startups and the partner companies, so that they can help them become more circular.

It is the world's first physical Circular Economy Accelerator program.

Besides more than 100 startups from five continents that have participated in the program since 2021, the Circular Valley network includes more than 150 partners from industries across all sectors and institutions from science and research.
