Find out more about the Startup Agenda and the Berlin startup ecosystem

Berlin is Germany’s “startup capital” and is well on its way to becoming one of Europe’s most important business and technology centers. We are not only focusing on innovation and a strong economy, we also want to become a role model for sustainable business. Startups have been making an indispensable contribution to this for a long time.

By implementing the Startup Agenda 2022-2026, the country is creating the conditions for the sustainable development of the ecosystem with a focus on greater diversity, sustainability and cooperation.

The Berlin startup ecosystem is being further developed with concrete measures in 5 key areas:

#CityOfImpact: Strengthening sustainability and future viability of the economy and society.
#CityOfTalents: The state of Berlin will resolutely counteract the shortage of skilled workers and position Berlin as “the place to be”.
#CityOfEnablement: utilizing the contribution of startups for a digital and modern administration.
#CityOfDiversity: Promoting diversity, especially female entrepreneurship, in the startup ecosystem.
#CityOfCooperation: Further development and strengthening of networks and cooperation between industry, start-ups and science.

Berlin is the European capital of freedom, the city of creativity and diversity that continues to attract innovators from all over the world. This is where high-tech and high culture meet – AI and art, venture capital and the club scene, side by side. Berlin’s numerous accelerator programs and initiatives offer founders a state-of-the-art infrastructure and top-level experts who are happy to accompany you into the thriving startup ecosystem of our city.
